I have watched the best japanese drama for the year. just as i was getting sick of all the cliched taiwan love stories, nishikido ryo (the love of my life) finally starred in a new drama. Last Friends. (Rasuto Furenzu) I love everything about this drama! The opening, the song (Utada Hikaru - Prisoner of Love), the cast, the storyline. it is really and definitely the best this year, and possible the best jap drama ever.
i love realistic storylines. not those girl likes guy, guy hates her, supporting actor helps her, he falls for her, she rejects him, main guy breaks up with his gf for her, she runs away, he finds her, they get tgt. awwww, gimme a break man. Last Friends is about the problems youths or young adults face nowadays: Domestic Violence, Bullying, Sexual Harrassment, Solitude, Betrayal, Adultery, Gender Identity Disorder and most of all, Unconditional Love. Everything into a natural, and i dare to say flawless, story.
It was so good, i finished the whole 11 episodes + special in 2 days. i would have done so in one if i did not have school today. in case you dont know, its super rare to have me WANT to finish a whole series so fast. hahas, i have so many dangling series, all half-watched and forsaken. i think i should become a dramam critic. =D so anyway, i though i would love to share the song. utada hikaru's vocals are really awesome. actually i listened to this song in the beginning of the year and it didn't catch my attention. then when it first played during the drama, i heard the lyrics and fell for it! yes, i have selective hearing, sometimes i turn off the lyrics and only pay attention to the tune.
Family, Friends, Husband & Wife, Lovers ... Our relationship seems to fall in one of each but we're none of them. We will cherish this fragile happiness and continue to try our best to live on. It's fine if we stay as friends, If possible, we hope to stay that way forever, And if anything happened that we should separate, With any luck, one day we will meet each other with smiles.
