My Lucky Star
Konbanwa!
I have been slacking off with updates, gomen ne! I shall compensate with pictures from Prom, Chalet and Grad Night. Then i will rattle off about my new favourite drama.

SCGS

PROM NIGHT
17 NOVEMBER 08
SWISSOTEL THE STAMFORD

CHALET WITH BFFS
19-21 NOVEMBER 08
COSTA SANDS DOWNTOWN EAST

The chalet photos were most amazing, almost 300 photos just in 3 days. Meaning an average of 100 per day. HAHHAS, including at least 50 of jocelyn's self-shots. Elyn's Mac photo booth is indeed the must-have for camwhores.
Back to the present, Jas and I finally completed JY's bday present. It's so amazing! Even i love it, our 8 months of hardwork paid off. (JY insists the 6 months of hiatus in between does not count.)
Monday, I had dinner with Shu Min (Jap tutor) and Wan Hui (Math tutor). Pity Willa couldn't make it. We went to Tiong Bahru for dinner and dessert at their friend's family's waffle shop. Super fun, listening to them talk about their friends is so amusing. HAHAS. あの日楽しかった!本当にありがとうございました!
So tuesday and weds was spent watching my new found drama and a movie. I am suffering so much because all the dramas recently are so disappointing. I just cannot find anything to satisfy me. =D

Tokyo Boy wasn't very enjoyable actually. When i read the synopsis i was kinda very excited to watch it but the plot was too slow, making it rather boring esp in the first part.
Apparently, i like dark deep plots too, Tokyo Boy is about a girl with a split personality, she unleashes a dark side unconsciously to protect herself from harm. What's interesting is that her dark side is actually a boy called Night, whom she thinks is her penpal from the time she tragically lost her parents. Night loves her deeply and plots to keep her first love from her. So basically, she has been writing letters to herself since young and now she is also unconsciously causing herself heartbreak by unleashing Night who scares her boyfriend away. The actress is the recently famous Horikita Maki from Kurosagi, Hana Kimi (Japan) and Nobuta wo produce, all are my faves. I thought her acting was superb esp in terms of Night, the death glare was so amazing. But the movie in general was okay only. It will be rather disturbing to those who can't understand it, abit deep i guess.

Dramawiki for My Lucky StarThis is my new favourite drama, for taiwan at least. I was super surprised when i saw the ratings. I always check viewership ratings before i watch, cause it says alot. This drama started off with an average rating of 2.24 and shot up to 4.67 by the last episode, which is considered freaking high. Secondly, it was about jewelry design that attracted me much, anything involving fashion and design attracts me. =D
Another big motivation is the cast. A good-looking and talented cast is a must-have for a good drama. (Aww, c'mmon. Looks definitely matters. 'Looks are not important' is a freaking lie.) You're a celebrity because something sets you apart from commoners. For a drama, it has to be looks or exceptionally superb acting skills. I found both in
My Lucky Star. Both leads are perfect, Jimmy Lin resembles Edison Chen, i thought i was the only one who thought so until i saw people commenting the same thing. He reminded me so much of Edison esp since he's a real car racer. (He acted as an F1 racer in the show bringing back Initial D memories since it was the same hairpin turn routes.)
The female lead is a korean who barely knows chinese. Yoo Ha Na is super cute. Her voice was of course dubbed, but behind the scenes revealed that she used a mixture of korean and chinese during her lines. The fact that this drama was her first is utterly shocking because she displayed incredible acting skills throughout the drama. There was a scene where she couldn't stop crying even after the director said cut. When Jimmy was comforting her, he ask "So what were you thinking about?". She answered emotionally "Oppa (korean for big bro), I imagined you died." in between her tears. HAHHAS, damn cute. I'm sure i will be looking out for her future shows.
Finally, my beloved Lee Wei (Dou Niu Yao Bu Yao and Ma Que Ai Shang Feng Huang) appeared in the second half of the drama too. Ahh, i miss him so. =D This drama is so satisfying, i'm gonna be watching it again soon. In the mean time, i'm looking forward to JaeJoong's drama: Heaven's Postman, another joint production between Japan and Korea. =D
I've said too much, if you've read until here, you are indeed amazing. Only drama freaks can tolerate me. I wanted to share another thought-provoking message from Ryo, but i'll save that for next time. =D
This sunday is JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test). I'm going to be studying hard because i want to pass, this cert will indeed be helpful for my future. 頑張ろう!
おやすみ!
